Good looking quality French Violin from the School of Gaillard labelled "Joseph Guarnerius fecit Cremona anno . . ."
Medium, even grain to front. Two piece fairly tightly flamed maple back with matching ribs.
Blackened edges to scroll and rib joints.
Golden amber varnish with a touch of red - mostly original, small area of retouch. All "damage" ie scratches, dents etc were deliberately made when new.
Excellent condition.
LOB: 360mm
Good sounding/powerful violin. Easy and even response across strings.
